Walk Bike Ride Challenge starts today

The city is using the month of July to push Walk Bike Ride, their initiative to increase the number of people using modes of transportation other than the car. If you register your efforts on their website, you will be entered to win stuff.

First, register. Then track your trips.

Meanwhile, Nashville is going to launch a bike sharing program.

“We don’t really have a biking culture in this city,” said Toks Omishakin, the man Nashville Mayor Karl Dean has charged with the job of turning the city into a bicycle-friendly, pedestrian-friendly mecca. “But change is happening. If you build it, they will come.”

I wish them good luck. We need more bikes in the South!
