Watch the Tour on a big screen at Magnuson Park Thursday night

I haven’t had a big desire to watch the Tour de France (if you can’t tell from the lack of coverage about it here). I think maybe racing just isn’t my passion. However, watching Stage 17 under the stars with tons of other bikers could be a lot of fun.

Cascade Bicycle Club is throwing two bike events back-to-back Thursday. Bike Mania is a series of events for kids:

This year BikeMania will include a high-flying BMX stunt show by top pro rider Nick Halsey and crew, a Wheelie Fun Course with crazy obstacles, Bike Carnival Games with lots of prizes, a treasure hunt and a bike parade. Kids (and parents) can take on the Tour de Magnuson route through the park. Outdoors For All will be at the event offering some adaptive cycles for kids to try.

Bike Mania will go from 4 p.m. until 7, when Cyclefest begins. Cyclefest will have a beer garden, BMX show and a giant blowup projector screen showing stage 17 of the Tour de France.
