Cranksgiving 2024 is Nov 23!

N 34th St in Fremont will be closed tonight

Design for planned bike box on N 34th St and Fremont Ave

Fremont Bridge users, note that N 34th St will be closed tonight (August 1) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. while crews lay down new pavement. Be prepared to find a different way to and from the Fremont Bridge.

The updates to N 34th St look very promising. SDOT is fixing the extremely deteriorated pavement between Stone Way and Fremont Ave and making exciting changes to the intersection at Fremont Ave, including a new bike box (see our previous story).

During this work, N 34th Street will be closed to through traffic between Fremont Avenue N and Interlake Avenue N.  Stone Way N will also be closed to through traffic between N 35th Street and N Northlake Way.  Detours signs will be posted and Uniformed Police Officers will help direct traffic.  Work will begin at 6 p.m. Monday night and the road will be closed at 7 p.m.  The work will conclude by 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The bike lane will be closed and bicyclists will be directed to share the lane with vehicles and follow the detour route, or utilize the Burke Gilman Trail, depending on the location.

Construction should wrap up this month.
