The Sound to Mountains Bike Festival is a century (or 70-mile, if you prefer) bike ride from Magnuson Park to North Bend. Put on by the Levee Breaking, the festival is a “music and arts celebration of the bicycle.”

At the end of the ride, riders are rewarded with live music and art, featuring:

Haiku-Chi, Led To Sea, Winter Bicycles, Shenandoah Davis, Eastern Sunz, Medium Troy, Sugar Wheel Works, 20 Riverside, Amateur Radio Operator, Inky Spokes: Bicycle Inspired Art, Jamestown Revival, Alejandro Garcia, Bryan Mateo, Rodriguez Bicycles, Seeing Blind, The Grandtours, Honeyville Rascalls, Rob Marcus, Donkelope Bicycles, 13 Spades Bicycles….

The festival is at Bybee Nims Blueberry Farms, and your $60 ride registration gets you in. If you don’t want to ride, you can still go to the fest. They even offer shuttles from Seattle to the farm. Check out the festival website to register or learn more.

Among the activities at the festival will be a “wake” for Carol Hawkins’ bicycle, which was destroyed when she was struck by a car in SoDo earlier this year. Visitors will be encouraged to write about their bike safety concerns in the guest book and write letters to municipalities about specific bike safety issues.
