New Tiger Mountain MTB trail now open

Biking Bis alerted me to this exciting news for mountain bikers: The Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance has worked hard, with the help of volunteers, to open the first new mountain bike trail on Tiger Mountain in 20 years.

The 1.5-mile East Tiger Summit Trail opened Wednesday and will remain open until October 15.

Washington DNR has just announced that the new East Tiger Summit Mountain Bike Trail is officially open as of Wednesday, Sept 5th! This new trail runs from the summit of East Tiger with views of Mt. Rainier, 1.4 miles and 500 vertical feet to the start of the Preston trail, adding a fine chunk of flowy, forested riding to the trail system.

While this is a big milestone, we’re not done yet… We’re building TWO more new trails on Tiger starting ASAP. One (the Silent Swamp reroute) will add 2+ miles of single track trail to connect the bottom of Preston to the start of NW Timber. The other new trail will connect the Summit trail directly to the new Silent Swamp trail – creating yet another option for riding at Tiger.

Volunteer trail work parties are planned weekly through September. For more information, visit the Evergreen calendar
