The King County Ferry District has obtained a grant for preliminary engineering and environmental analysis for the redesign or enhancements at the Vashon Island Passenger-Only Ferry Terminal. This grant does not support operation or service enhancement costs and must be used within the passenger-only terminal footprint.

After preliminary analysis, the following improvements have been identified as feasible improvements eligible for grant funding:
o Covered Weather Protection (includes covered walkway and wind screen at the gangway)
o Covered Bike Storage

We are looking for your help to identify the need and interest in these feasible terminal improvements. We appreciate your time and thank you for participating in this survey.

Please join us at the Vashon-Maury Island Community Council (VMICC) Meeting on March 18th at 7pm for a brief presentation and additional opportunity to comment.

This survey will be open until April 1, 2013. Results will be shared with the VMICC for presentation at the May 2013 meeting.

How about flattening that climb up from the ferry. Or a nice fununcular would work.

“electric assist!”…but yeah, it’s the worst part of a cycle tour of the Island.
