After a couple quiet months, the Seattle bike events are starting to ramp up again.
Cascade Bicycle Club has opened registrations for most of it’s major events in 2016, which you can flip through in their latest email blast. Chilly Hilly, the club’s first major ride of the year, is just two weeks away.
Seattle Bike Swap – Sunday
But first comes Cascade’s Seattle Bike Swap, a packed hall with all kinds of new, used and handmade wares for sale.
Sunday, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Seattle Center Exhibition Hall.
It costs $20 to be in the first wave at 8 a.m., but then the price drops to $7 at 9 a.m. ($5 if you’re a Cascade member). Or you can get in free for the last hour starting at 1 p.m. Bring cash.
Stoked Spoke Episode III – Wednesday
The final evening in an adventure presentation series hosted by Swift Industries, Stoked Spoke is a chance to hang out with other bike adventurers and take in presentations about specific trips around the region.
Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. at the Rhino Room on Capitol Hill. $5. 21+.

The final installment of Stoked Spoke Adventure Series gets wild special guests Limberlost and Komorebi Bike Club from Portland
With upcoming event announcements you won’t wanna miss!Stoked Spoke is a series of adventure presentations. Each evening kicks off with four to six self supported bike camping routes complete with maps, photos and planning tips. This year the trip reports will be 5-10 minutes long. Once all of the presentations are finished, each presenter will host an information table where they will answer individual questions and have detailed maps of region they explored.

Them thinking of going and taking my little brother (he’s in college & rides commuting). Are there good deals on second hand bikes here or is it more worthwhile to go to a dealer?

Was anything actually sold at the swap meet this year or was is just all the crap that isn’t moving on craigslist still not having any takers in person like last year? The cover charge situation is unfortunate. My understanding is that anything worth having is gone before the doors are even open to people who don’t rent a vendor space.
