More details from Cascade:

F5 Bike Everywhere Day on Friday, May 20 is the best day of the year to be on a bike. Thousands of people across the city, region and state will use pedal power to ride to work, school and everywhere in between. With more than 15,000 people expected to get out on their bikes, F5 Bike Everywhere Day shows what our streets could look like every day if we continue encouraging and investing in bicycling as transportation and recreation.

“The annual increase in people riding bikes on F5 Bike Everywhere Day clearly demonstrates that biking is a joyous and effective way to get around Washington state. This people-powered investment calls for an equal investment from transportation planners and politicians to build a safe, all-ages-and-abilities network of bicycle trails, lanes, boulevards, and new innovative facilities in the state,” said Elizabeth Kiker, Executive Director of Cascade Bicycle Club. “By bicycling together, we make a difference.”

To build a network of support and fun for the thousands of people riding bicycles on F5 Bike Everywhere Day, Cascade Bicycle Club and our local partners will host more than 100 celebration stations along major bike routes in the Puget Sound region, providing encouragement, snacks and swag to riders.

Celebration stations* will provide people the opportunity to:

Pick up a free souvenir
Enter the free drawing for fabulous prizes
Join Cascade Bicycle Club at our once-a-year discounted rate (select stations only)
Ask a bike mechanic to look over your bike or air up your tires
Fuel up with snacks, coffee, or juice
*Offerings vary from station to station.

It was an amazingly snacky ride today. I’m working from home today, but I did the ride to work and back just to go out and hit the stations and talk to people.
