Bike Works launches new groundbreaking family biking projects

Morgan hauls herself, six bikes and a passenger on her electric-assisted trike.

Bike Works has hired longtime family biking guru Morgan Scherer to lead a new series of adult programs aimed at making it easier for people to find a family biking solution that works for them and to provide classes for adults who want learn safe roadway biking skills.

Scherer, who lives in Rainier Beach, has been taking her fleet of different family bikes to various Seattle events for years. The Family Bike Expo simply gives people the chance to take different style cargo bikes for a spin. But now she is joining Bike Works to expand that idea into a groundbreaking family biking program in the south end that would make the north end drool.

Want to know what all this family biking stuff is all about? Register for Sunday’s Family Bike Seminar, 1–4 p.m. at Bike Works in Columbia City.

We went on the first Kidical Mass ride in Columbia City two weekends ago and had a blast. And this is coming from a very-newbie-mom-with-kid-in-a-cargo-seat biker. Thanks for making it so enjoyable and fun. We’re excited to join you in the Rainier Valley Parade next week!
