The Burke-Gilman isn’t just the city’s most popular trail, it’s also a long park where people go for transportation, recreation and a little restoration.
Now, you have a chance to give back to the trail that’s given you so much. The Friends of the Burke-Gilman Trail at Sand Point are hosting a series of work parties this month to help restore and clean up the plant life along the northeast Seattle section of the trail.
Join the Friends of the Burke-Gilman Trail at Sand Point for a volunteer day along the trail. We’ll be removing ivy, bindweed, and blackberry from the Burke-Gilman Trail!
What to bring: Dress for the weather, bring a water bottle and a lunch. We’ll have tools, gloves, hot drinks and snacks.
Where to meet: the small park directly south of Metropolitan Market, 5250 40th Ave NE, Seattle, 98105

These guys are great! I volunteered with them a bit while I was on furlough for the federal shutdown and I was amazed to find out how often they’re there and how much they do!
