Cascade Bicycle Club is holding the 26th Annual Seattle Bike Expo Saturday and Sunday at the Smith Cove Cruise Terminal in Interbay.

A huge trade show packed with gear, performances and talks, the expo combines bike industry and bike culture into a two-story cruise terminal building. See the latest bikes and gear from makers big and small, listen to leaders of the bike movement, watch some incredible bike skill displays, and taste the latest in disgusting energy gel shot flavors!

Every year, there is a little friction between people biking to the venue and terminal staff. Basically, there are some silly rules (security regulations, etc) that make it so you have to bike a couple (quite pleasant) miles out of the way to get to the venue. Here’s a map of how to get there so you know what to expect:

World Champion Artistic Cyclists

Artistic cycling is a form of competitive indoor cycling in which athletes perform tricks on fixed gear bikes in a format similar to ballet or gymnastics. 2013 World champion Corinna Hein, Stefan Musu, Lukas Matla are guaranteed to amaze, entertain and enthrall you with their athletic skill and artistic expression!

As Seattle continues to improve its bicycling infrastructure, more and more families are trying to get out of the car and onto bicycles to get around town. But getting started can be daunting and questions beg to be answered. In this engaging and interactive presentation, Familybike Seattle founder Morgan Scherer presents safe and exciting ways to get started.

NW Trials Show

Trials riding is an extreme test of bicycle handling skills, over obstacles both natural and man-made. In competition, riders have to make their way through an obstacle course without putting a foot down.
Equal parts balance and daring, trials is a great spectator sport.

We all know Eddy Merckx as the relentless Cannibal, the five-time Tour de France winner and one of the greatest cyclist of all time. But what drove this
man to become such a prolific winner? And how did he manage to become as successful in building his bikes as in riding them?
In this session, Peter Vanham delves into the man behind myth, from the accident that almost killed him to the company that bears his name and legacy.

Come check out the latest creations from the region’s most talented amateur and professional frame builders.
