New Belgium’s Clips of Faith brings film and beer to Gas Works Friday

Okay, Tour de Fat may be skipping Seattle this year, but New Belgium is making up for it by bringing Clips of Faith to Gas Works Park July 29 (tomorrow!). It’s a beer and film tour that’s free (though the beer costs money). Proceeds benefit Nature Consortium. Party starts at 8 p.m.

Oh, and Seattle filmmaker Sam Nuttmann’s film, “The Millionaire’s Club” will be featured. Good job Sam!

On Friday, July 29, New Belgium Brewing’s Clips of Faith Beer and Film Tour (www.clipsoffaith.com) will come to Seattle for the first time.  New Belgium, maker of Fat Tire Amber Ale, selected the winning films and has hit the road for its second annual tour, bringing beer, entertainment and a good time to town.  Top film submissions include lizard wrangling in the dead of the Wisconsin winter, a talking beer bottle sketch comedy and a miniature day on a tremendous mountain. In Seattle, local resident Sam Nuttman’s film, “The Millionaire’s Club” will be featured as an honorable mention.

The outdoor event will bring people together to view a free screening of the collected amateur films, taste seven of New Belgium’s esoteric Lips of Faith beers (http://www.newbelgium.com/beer), along with seven popular classics, and enjoy food from local vendors.

All proceeds from each stop will go to a local non-profit organization.  In Seattle, the beneficiary is the Nature Consortium (www.naturec.org), a grassroots, community-based organization whose mission is to connect people, arts and nature.  Sustainable Seattle (www.sustainableseattle.org) will handle the recycling. In total, Clips of Faith raised more than $31,000 in 2010.
