Trail projects in Seattle create more jobs per dollar than roads

More jobs are created by building trails in Seattle than from road projects, according to a recent study (PDF) by Heidi Garrett-Peltier for the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (h/t Biking Bis). City proposes Beacon Hill bike trail to connect I-90 to Sodo

No Cars Allowed

A new restaurant in Madison, Wisconsin is hoping to open up shop along a bike and pedestrian path in “the one place where you can’t hear any cars in the middle of the city,” according to the Wisconsin State Journal. In fact, it will be impossible to get there by car.
