Two Burke-Gilman improvements in the works in Wallingford and Frelard

The city has scheduled two Burke-Gilman Trail improvements this week: Improved ADA ramps in Frelard and an improved crossing at Latona Ave in Wallingford. Expect delays and detours starting today. University Bridge will be CLOSED Saturday – UPDATE: Now open

UPDATE: Work wrapped up early Saturday, so the bridge will be open Sunday. Yay! Well, this isn’t the most welcome news, especially since Sunday could crack 60 degrees, but the University Bridge will be closed from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to make repairs. Yes, this includes people on foot and bike.…

Airport Way Bridge grand opening is Friday

The terrible detour around the Airport Way Bridge at the north end of Georgetown is almost at an end. The city will celebrate the grand opening of the reconstructed bridge at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
