Pie by bike – U District’s Piecycle getting lots of attention

Piecycle in the U District is getting a good amount of attention recently, and for good reason. They bake interesting homemade pies and deliver them to your door via bicycle. $20/full pie, $3/slice. And according to their facebook page, they have been selling out of pie a lot lately.

Roosevelt and University Bridge bike lanes finally green

I was beginning to wonder if they forgot. Or maybe they ran out of money, I thought. It has been months since the bike lanes on Roosevelt, 11th and near the University Bridge went in, and I noticed from the start that there were sections marked “green.” Yet time passed and still no green.

Another biker allegedly attacked in U District and called a racial slur

Man, I move into a neighborhood and all of a sudden it’s open season on cyclists (clearly, I’m exaggerating). Following an August 30 incident I reported earlier, a biker told police he was attacked by a car and called a racial slur while riding on Roosevelt near NE 56th. The victim in the August 30…

Bike lanes are in on 11th north of the University Bridge

The bike lanes have been painted on 11th through the U District. Coupled with the lanes on Roosevelt, there are now bike lanes in both directions connecting to the University Bridge. And there was much rejoicing.
